Description

‘In Touch’ is a project aspiring to bring innovation in non-formal education activities delivering high quality learning in the youth sector giving emphasis in working with young people with mobility and sensory disabilities. ‘In Touch’ is attempting to fill the gap of up-to-date innovations in the already available training materials for organizations working with people with disabilities. This project will enhance the possibilities for individuals with disabilities to participate in different activities, have more access to opportunities and at the same time have increased opportunities to become integrated into the European society, by this empowerment.

The project is involving 6 countries, 3 from the European Union (Italy, Malta, and Cyprus) and 3 from the Western Balkans region (Albania, Montenegro, and Bosnia & Herzegovina) with a complementary partnership of organizations working with people with disabilities and others working on the creation of educational and didactic activities through non-formal education.

The major outcome that is expected from the development of this project is the improvement of the quality of the activities that are currently being carried out by organisations that are committed to working with youngsters with disabilities, objective that is planned to be reached through two major project outputs:

(a) The development of a Didactic Manual with inclusive activities for people with disabilities

(b) The creation of an accessible mobile APP that will serve as a common hub for people with disabilities to find and map accessible/free-barrier services, activities and opportunities in their own countries.
